One Year, Four Museums, Eight Sculptures

Stine Bidstrup’s Works Included in Museum Collections During 2015:

In the Spring of 2015, the work Bifurcations (2015) became part of the permanent collection at the Finnish Glass Museum in Riihimäki, Finland, after the closing of the juried exhibition The European Glass Experience, held at The Finnish Glass Museum and Museo del Vetro in Murano, Venice, Italy.

Two sculptures from the series Studies in Search of Order and Chaos (2015) went into the permanent collection at the Chazen Museum of Art in Madison, Wisconsin, US.

In the Fall 2015, the Designmuseum Danmark in Copenhagen, Denmark, acquired a work from the series Studies in Search of Order and Chaos (2012) for their permanent collection. This piece will go on view in March 2016 as part of the exhibition Danish Design Now.

During the juried exhibition The Process – European Glass Prize at the Glazenhuis in Lommel, Belgium, the Ernsting Stiftung based in Coesfeld, Germany, acquired two pieces entitled Looking for My True North (2015) for the Glass Museum Alter Hof Herding. These will also go on view in the coming year in an exhibition celebrating the 20th anniversary of the museum.

In-depth interview with artist and educator Jack Wax (he runs the glass program at VCU), who installed a room-sized sculpture at the Glasmuseet Ebeltoft in Denmark His site-specific work Cogent Whisper will be exhibited through the end of 2015. Here he is interviewed by Stine Bidstrup about his process and practice.


A film about Luftkraft Glass Studio's current exhibition at the Glasmuseet Ebeltoft. The show is up until January 15, 2017.
